Happy Canada day

I just want to wish my Canadian friends a Happy Canada Day. (That includes you, Peter Cullen, aka voice actor of Optimus Prime. Gawd, I'm such a geek!)

And I saw Revenge of the Fallen a second time. Boy, it doesn't get any better than this. XD

Oh noes, sound the alarm!

I can't believe that Michael Jackson is dead. That was too sudden, and I feel bad for his family, friends and fans. Sure the guy was wack, but he did give us Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat It and many other hits. I think I might get the 25th anniversary CD tomorrow, unless it's jacked up high because of his death.

And the same goes out to Farrah Fawcett. But it was a planned death, because she did have heavy cancer and nobody was expecting her to survive. It's shame that she died, because she was one of the few actresses in a male-oriented category of action and espionage.

I wish I was this epic!

THE SAMPLES OF THE OST HAS BEEN RELEASED!

I'm going to HMV tomorrow, buying my copy and listening to it non-stop on my MP3 player. It's made of EPIC AWESOME!

Mike looking so purrrttyy

Watch it, it's great. (I can't help but feel alittle miffed they stole a design idea I had. It was the smoke-form effects and I was going to use it when animating my idea for Laughing Gas by Juno Reactor. Now I worry I'll feel like a copycat.)

Only 12 days left until I go and see the movie on IMAX. So excited. :3

I also caught a bit of the all-day all-night marathon of Transformers G1 episodes on Teletoon Retro last night. I have to say that "Megatron's Master Plan" is the second-freakiest episode, after the "Revenge of Bruticus" episode. Right, now I'm sounding like a total geek, but I don't really care.

Transformers
I just finished purchasing 4 tickets to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on IMAX, for June 26th at an odd hours.

I'm so happy I'm ready to run around the neighbourhood in my PJs. XD

Here we go, on the road

I'm trying this out today, wish me luck! Also, it's free museum day, so I'm going to geek out and have fun at the historical museums. YAYS! And maybe play some KH: CoM and KH2 when I get home. ;)

I've got a bad feeling about this...

I think I want to laugh and cry at the same time when I read the sentence under Assets in this document (PDF):
http://www.beaconsfield.ca/_site/DOCUMENTS/PDF/2009/EMPLOIS/green_patrollers_summer09.pdf

"Belonging to a first nation, visible minority or having a handicap."

Alarm bells are ringing in my head. Not because it's an equal opportunity employer, but because they state that having the above criteria is an asset. And if said asset guarantees somebody employment over another due to race/disability or what have you, it just goes to show we're not at the finishing end of the battle to end discrimination.

Granted, they are trying to PREACH to the children that people of different colours and abilities are just the same, like you and I. :D [/sarcasm]

But in the real world, I know for a fact that must children don't give a flying fuck. Most of them are curious at first like, "Why is this person black? Why is that person using a cane for?". But after a horde of PSAs, lecturing in classrooms and parents telling them to be nice to different people, their minds just go numb. Or worse, they get corrupted because they set a bar of difference between people.

I think as well it's not just children who make jokes behind backs, its also the adults to blame. And when adults decide that to compensate and thus cleanse themselves of guilt is to have people do work, taking a public role, that's where the slippery slope begins.

And I am not racist for stating this, but a majority of Beaconsfield citizens are CAUCASIAN. Sure, we have minorities but it's rare to see them. The further west you go, the whiter it gets, as someone told me once. And sadly, I'm beginning to see it happening. :(

Moral of the story: if we didn't believe in differation, we wouldn't need to write that being a minority, having a handicap or being a part of First Nations (and it's capitalized, that moronic writer didn't do a proper job) is an asset to get this position.

I worked on my phoenix shirt today (the third time this month), and while doing the border with my gold ribbons, I accidently sewed into the normal fabric. While removing it with the seam ripper I made a nice little hole. ;_; I need to get gigantic beads to hide this. AND I BETTER NOT HAVE WATER DAMAGE ON THE FABRIC. I have spent the last day and a half working on this shirt.

I hate the princess-satin fabric, it's shittiest thing I have ever worked with. I should've splurged on something better at Fabricville.

Why I think Cdn music sucks

I am sick and tired of hearing some proud Canadians say, "I don't listen to American crap, I listen to good Canadian music." To those presumptious bastards I say go screw yourself with something sandpaper-y.

I am so tired of hearing how 'great' Canadian music is. It really isn't that great to me, especially these artists:

- Sarah McGlauglin (STOP SINGING! You don't have a great voice!)
- Avril Lavigne
- 50% of Celine Dion (her music from pre-2000 is good)
- Chantal Kreviazuk (sellout)
- Feist (the always high girl artist)

I'm not being sexist by putting up just women on my hated Cdn music artists list, but I really can't stand these artists. And I hate how they're the only ones recognized by anyone outside of Canada. Their music sucks (especially Sarah and Chantal's) and they cause my ears to bleed like I'm listening to screamo music.

There's only a few bands from Canada I like, and once again I'm not being sexist because these bands are male-oriented:

- Our Lady Peace
- Bif Naked
- Great Big Sea
- Bare Naked Ladies
- Sum 41

And why do people wonder why American music sells alot? Besides the shameless over-promotion, they hire the best musicians, best producers, best studios and best mixers to make the singer/band sound great. If we could get these same people to produce music for Canadian artists (without sounding like Avril Lavigne) then I would be happy. Until then, I still think that the overall music scene of Canadian artists sucks. ;P

FINALLY! Labrynthe has some Rammstein shirts, hoodies and other paraphelia. As well, the band is coming out with a new album by the end of this year, I can't wait! :D
This will mark their 15th anniversary!

Dead by Sunrise (Chester Bennington's side project band) will have their album out by September, which is a relief because I thought it was a hoax.

I got my hait re-touched today, the process took over 3 hours since the hairdresser had to colour-treat, tint and dye it. But it was all worth it in the end, because I look great! :D

Today is 4/20, some day to smoke weed internationally, because a code 420 is for arresting someone with the possession of marijuana. Truth be told, I hate weed; it smells terrible, I abhore smoking and I think it's a waste of time to get high. Except for medical reasons, which I can understand if you're going through chemo or a painful process and its necessary due to doctor's orders.

Tomorrow is Free Ice Day at Ben & Jerry's, so I'm going to have fun with that. And maybe go see Adventureland

I'm too exhausted to do anything, but I'm pushing myself to do the rough copy of the shirt I'm wearing for AN. The skirt can wait until tomorrow, but most importantly the wings need to be done a week before Anime North. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CON! It's been a year since I went to Toronto and I miss that city. It has beautiful trams, the CN tower, and best of all, ENGLISH IS EVERYWHERE! 8D

Burn, baby, burn!

Today I was walking on Mount Royal street, and when I passed by Cruella's, I saw the entire side of the building its in was burned. As in, gutted and roof caving in burned. I don't know what happened, but they're re-opening in May 2009.

If you don't know, Cruella is one of Montreal's best (and possibly few) goth shops, where you can get ACTUAL and good quality clothing, not poser or crappy clothing from D-Tox and friends. I love going there when I can, and I wish I could afford a decent spike collar or some PVC shorts.

Does anybody know what happened? I remembered a Pitt's shoe store being at the side of the building (where most of the damage was) and it was fine back in Janurary.
